On Friday, June 9, 2018, the Chevron El Segundo Refinery donated $225,000 to the Manhattan Beach Unified School District (MBUSD). The check was presented at the Manhattan Wine Auction benefitting the Manhattan Beach Education Foundation (MBEF). Nearly 2,000 people attended the 24th annual event that raised over $1.3 million for local schools in Manhattan Beach. The money donated by Chevron will be used to fund STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) programs in grades K-12.
