Community Advisory Panel

Since January 2002, the El Segundo Refinery has maintained a community advisory panel, or CAP, consisting of 20 residents and business people from El Segundo and Manhattan Beach. The CAP movement in this country began several years ago. CAPs provide community members with an opportunity to learn about process units, safety measures and environmental performance. In turn, the CAP members act as "eyes and ears" in the community, conveying concerns and questions to facility management. The group meets once a month and they are in charge of setting the agenda.
